Thought the communion service was very good this morning. The 'ribbon thing' was impressive, and all was well led. Nobody was trying too hard. Good sermon on the opening verses of John's gospel on taking "flesh"seriously. The service concluded by singing Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer, and that will never get a complaint from me.
But what's this? An extra verse! I've not sung this before:
Musing on my habitation
Musing on my heavenly home
Fills my soul with holy longings:
Come Lord Jesus, quickly come;
<strong>Vanity is all I see</strong>
Lord, I long to be with thee!

Is it me, or does that undo the message of the rest of the service?
